Madison is 15 years old, a Freshman in High School proud to be a Texan! She is excited to share her passion for faith and serving others.

On November 24, 2014, she lost a great member of her family in a tragic accident. Her cousin, Warren, went to live in his forever home, heaven. That day changed her life forever. Warren was many wonderful things but faithful is what always comes to her mind first when she thinks of him. It’s been a long 13+ months and her heart has changed significantly since Nov 24th.

Her perspective has changed and what she now live's for is much different. Like any other 15 year old she want to live a life that is focused on eternity. As her faith has grown since Warren went to heaven, she feels called to serve and minister to others.

She has been feeling a tug on her heart to serve and get involved but wasn’t sure what that was or what that would look like. A few weeks ago, she was listening to a sermon at her church where the pastor was explaining what our tithes were going to be used for. Then a local ophthalmologist spoke about his experience going to Haiti. He specifically spoke about a lady that was experiencing a true medical emergency related to her eyes and that in the US, her condition would require immediate surgery in which blindness and even death was a possibility. As he spoke, he became emotional telling his story of not having the adequate equipment to provide the services needed, so he did the only thing he knew to do which was to pray over her. Weeks later he followed up with someone in the Haiti village where he had served and inquired about the lady. He was shocked when he was told that she had experienced a full recovery and was doing fine. A true testiment to how powerful prayer can be and how God answers prayers. It was then she knew and felt called to serve in some capacity.

A couple of weeks went by and she was listening to a sermon online with her mom. The preacher was teaching on Exodus and how God called on Moses to go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses asked God “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.” It was during that sermon where the preacher’s message gave her the idea of raising money that would allow her to go on mission trips, donate to local charities, and live a life serving others.
